Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset: Day 2

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

Day 2

I woke up today feeling okay. I’m still dealing with some caffeine withdrawls and have a slight headache. The water and supplements went down easier in the morning than the first day so I’m happy about that. I’m down 0.5 pounds and just so you know I’m short- 5ft 2 (and three quarters, thank you very much) so half a pound is a lot. I’m working on getting a good morning routine down so today I took my supplements, then took Draco for his morning walk and came back to prepare breakfast. That worked pretty well so I’m going to stick with that- I felt more like I had a good schedule down.

Breakfast was one of my favorites- steel cut oatmeal with berries and organic non-fat plain yogurt sweetened with a little raw honey. I believe  the guide calls for blueberries, but they are SO expensive here so we opted for raspberries instead and they were VERY yummy! A breakfast like this is something I’m totally used to so it made me really happy to have some normalcy this morning. I really am a creature of habit so this fed into my usual routine. I don’t think that’s going to continue much longer though- haha!

Again today I’m not feeling as productive as usual and I really don’t think I got as much done as I would on a typical Thursday.  I didn’t stare blankly at my computer today so I’m taking that as a positive! I’m also feeling a little achy today, but that was something I expected with everything going on inside.

Another round of supplements and 30 minutes later and it was time for lunch. This time it was a Greek salad with chicken on top. Sorry, this is mine before I cut it. Now, there is a recipe for a Greek Dressing in the guide book, buuuuuut we love that Creamy Garlic Dressing so much that we just used that again- especially since it made so many servings. But that means I have no review on the Greek Dressing so if you try it, let me know how it is and if it stacks up to the Creamy Garlic!

Second day of Alkalanize and I decided to just not taste it- I mixed it with 6 ounces of water and just sucked it out. That worked pretty well. I think I was over the shock of it, so it wasn’t AS bad today, but it’s definitely a different flavor. Today I did TurboFire’s Abs 10- I have to keep my core strengthened for my back so I thought that would be a good option. I didn’t need a snack today since the salad was soooo big!

Dinner tonight was black beans and rice on a 6-inch corn tortilla with guacamole and steamed kale with pine nuts. Being from New Mexico- beans and rice is something I’m totally familiar with and these were seasoned with Liquid Aminos.

Okay, let me take a second and talk about Liquid Aminos- these are THE BOMB! I absolutely am in love with them! They taste just like soy sauce but are soooo much healthier and so much less sodium- there’s actual nutrients in it! I am a total convert!

So back to dinner, now the picture showed little tacos, but I took the corn tortilla and crisped it up in the oven like a tostada instead. Men are allowed 2 tortillas so I crisped 2 up for Neil. This was a DELICIOUS dinner! I loved it!

So thoughts at the end of day 2…. feeling a little less out of it today, but still not quite myself. I am still feeling a little sleepy during the day which I think has a lot to do with cutting out the caffeine. I’m drinking a ton of water because I’m drinking what I normally do and then drinking extra with the supplements 4 times a day. So basically what I’m saying is I’m peeing every 30 minutes- haha!

I’m so ready for Day 3– they say it’s one of the hardest, but I’m up for the challenge!

Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset: Day 1

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

I’ve embarked on a journey- a journey that I’m sure many people will take, but I’m also sure that many people are afraid of right now. I’ve documented my days so you can follow my journey and see what it’s like to go through the Ultimate Reset. There are some struggles, but I know that it’s going to be worth it and I am SO looking forward to how GREAT I will feel afterwards.

Day 0:

Yes, Day 0- why? Because this was preparation day. We actually ordered our initial items from Amazon Fresh (if you’re not in Seattle, you don’t have this service, but it’s basically a grocery delivery service that’s run by Amazon). Through Amazon Fresh we were happy to find some of the items we had never heard of before like Liquid Aminos and Tempeh. What’s really great is that when you get your Ultimate Reset kit, you can log into the Participant’s Portal and print off shopping lists… something I didn’t see until partway through week 1- SHEESH! I went through each recipe typing up all the ingredients we needed- talk about time consuming! Just want to make sure you don’t make the same mistake as I did- print out the lists!

We set to work getting food ready for Day 1- which for us was a Wednesday (we heard days 3-5 are the toughest so we wanted to be home for the bulk of that). One of my biggest recommendation is to go to a store like Trader Joe’s and get their microgreens because it’s already ready to go for you, then you just have to add the other veggies, nuts and make the salad dressing. I’m usually not someone to prepare my lunch ahead of time because, honestly, most days it’s Shakeology so…. no preparation needed! This was a new experience for me and looking back, we really should have prepared even more of the week’s food ahead of time, but I’ll get to that….

Day 1

The nice thing about Day 1 is that the food is relatively similar to things you may be eating anyway.

The first thing you do every morning is drink 12-32 ounces of water that you’ve shaken 5 shakes of Mineralize into, take 10-15 drops of Oxygenize and take 2 Optimize pills. I was actually really worried about this because my stomach does not like water first thing in the morning when it’s empty, BUT I wanted to do this as close to a tee as I could, so I sucked it up and did it. After that, you wait 30 minutes and have your breakfast.

Now, to be honest, we were supposed to have spinach or kale for breakfast, but WHOOPS that slipped through our list so broccoli it was! This was easy- two eggs scrambled in a bit of olive oil, 2 slices of whole grain toast and 1 generous serving of kale or in my case broccoli.

I drank coffee up until the Tuesday right before we started- was that smart? I don’t know. They say to wean off of caffeine, but I drink so much less than I used to since I started drinking Shakeology so I thought I’d be just fine. Well, I did have a slight headache from lack of caffeine on this first day. Also, at around 10:30 am, I realized I had been staring at my computer screen and I’m not entirely sure how long I had been doing that, so…… Yes, I had some caffeine withdrawls!  I also wasn’t as effective as I usually would be, but I knew that was part of the process so I just sucked it up.

At least 2 hours after you eat breakfast, it’s time to take more supplements- 12-32 ounces of water with 5 shakes of Mineralize, 10-15 drops of Oxygenize and 2 Optimize pills. I had read that some people get an instant headache after taking the Oxygenize but that didn’t happen to me.  30 minutes after these supplements, you can have your lunch which on Day 1 is a delicious microgreen salad. One of the highlights of the salad (to me anyway) was the delicious jicama!  Oh, also, there is a creamy garlic dressing in the recipe book- MAKE IT! It is SOOO good! I don’t think I’m buying salad dressing any more- I’m just going to make this stuff! In fact, we haven’t even tried any of the other salad dressings in the recipe book because we can’t get enough of this one!

Now, at least 2 hours after you have lunch, there’s another set of supplements- 5 shakes of Mineralize in 12-32 ounces of water, and Alkalinize…. So here’s the deal with Alkalinize, it’s not the best thing I’ve ever taste, I’ll just say that. It’s made mostly of alfalfa (yeah not this kind- the grass kind!), so you can imagine the smell and taste of this one. On day 1, I was really kind of disturbed by it, but I know it’s part of the process and it’s what my body needs so I chugged it down!

30 minutes after that, you can have a snack if you need it. If you think you can make it until dinner go ahead and skip it, but today I needed a snack so I had some cashews according to the snack ideas in the Ultimate Reset Guide.

There is no working out during these 21 days- WHAT?!!!! Yes, no working out! There are some things allowed though- stretching, walking and light yoga. On Day 1, I opted for some Yoga with Les Mills Pump Flow DVD. It really was nice to get some stretching and release in. Draco also got some great walks- haha! It’s really hard for me to NOT workout, but today I wasn’t up for it anyway.

At least 2 hours after your snack, it’s time again for supplements- 5 shakes of Mineralize in 12-32 ounces of water, 10-15 drops of Oxygenize and 2 Optimize pills.  And again, you have to wait 30 minutes before eating dinner, which was absolutely delicious! Baked salmon, baby potatoes and asparagus. This is something I might normally opt to eat anyway, so I had no problem with this at all.

Yes that’s a ton of garlic cloves on top of my salmon- we LOVE garlic!

Day 1 evening was where the struggles really began- we were looking forward at the week and needed to make another salad for lunch for Day 2- with chicken. Neil has to take his lunch to work for this so we had to cook the chicken ahead of time. At the end of Day 1, we were pretty grumpy- I’m not going to lie. All the changes we were making and the food preparation and life in general all rolled into one and it made for a tough evening of food preparation. I know it sounds silly with just a salad needing made, but we were really feeling the impact of all the changes and were just crabby and tired. With the salad prepared for the next day, we called it a night and I was SO looking forward to a good night’s sleep!

Onto Day 2…..

Sometimes I look at my life and I’m still in SHOCK that it’s MY life! As you’ve probably been seeing on Facebook, I just got back from a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas- a trip I earned through building my business with Beachbody! This is a location that I never in my wildest dreams thought I would visit and honestly, I hadn’t even been out of the country before this! It was such a dream situation- I definitely got teary-eyed several times while we were there!

Craig Holiday reminded us this weekend that success doesn’t happen by chance- that we weren’t there by accident. That really hit home for me- I did work hard to get there! I’m EXTREMELY blessed, but I also work hard and that hard work has paid off, big time! Looking back at where I started (unhealthy, unhappy, and in pain) to where I am now (healthy, fit, happy and no pain)- I am so truly thankful for all that I have been a part of with Beachbody!

The reason I share this is not to brag, but to share with you because this life- a life with whatever you’ve ever dreamed of- is possible for YOU! This business affords you anything you can ever want in life if you embrace it, own it, work it and open your heart to change and growth! Here are my last 4 weeks of commissions with my biggest commission happening WHILE I was in the Bahamas- that’s crazy!

What’s most exciting to me is that my team is on track to making serious money AND they are working their way to next year’s trip…. to DISNEYWORLD! I want to help you get there too! It’s not too late, but let’s get you started today! It’s all about helping people get healthy and live their best life possible! It’s something you can stand behind, feel proud about doing and you’re just going to love it!

I know someone of you have been thinking about doing this for a long time- but what’s holding you back? It’s time to dive in- it’s time to get started and it’s time to start building your dreams! Let’s talk about this! Do you want to get started now? Of course you do!!

Les Mills Pump- Day 1 PUMP Challenge!

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

So yesterday was Day 1 of Les Mills Pump and I was totally stoked to get started! I actually got the program last week so I’ve been itching to start and I was not disappointed!

The first workout was the Pump Challenge which is sort of a run through of the moves you can expect in the workouts to come. It’s 25 minutes long and I honestly didn’t even have a chance to look at the clock on the screen- it just FLEW by! It introduced the rep effect which is basically the idea of doing a lot of reps with lightER weights to build that long, lean muscle we all want. There was some great music including a Lady Gaga hit so that was definitely helpful!  All the movements and reps are coordinated with the music which just rocks.

So with the lower body work especially, my heart rate increased some and I had definitely worked some muscles. But… I’m getting ready for a trip to the Bahamas so I decided to up the game and add in some Brazil Butt Lift in the form of Bum Bum. I felt great after those two workouts- got them done in about an hour and was on with my day!

But….

Today….

I’m definitely paying for that- haha! I’m so sore in the hamstring, booty area from doubling up and I LOVE IT!

So Day 1 is in the Book- it’s a rest day from Pump today but you know what that means…. TurboFire coming up! So looking forward to some more Pump tomorrow! Stay tuned…
