Happy Friday!
Last weekend, we were talking about this concept at church and I just had to share some of my thoughts on it.
I think there’s HUGE merit to finding the positive and looking on the bright side. I think that there is always something to be grateful for!
However, I think our society has kind of made it not okay to be not okay. Someone will talk about something that happened to them and often the response is that “things could worse” or “others have bigger problems” or something that marginalizes what they’re going through.
You know what.. sometimes we’re NOT okay and we need someone just to listen. And we also need to stop lying to ourselves about it too. I mean, how many times have you said that you’re okay to so many people that you start believing it yourself?
When you’re not honest with yourself, you shove down those feelings, you don’t deal with them, and that can build up and build up until you explode or do something that you or your loved ones will regret.
So, I just wanted to say that it’s okay if you’re not okay. Lean on your friends- your true friends- who will pick you up and get you out of your head and help you move past it!
