Why Yoga is Good for Me

I’m totally one of those people has a really hard time just sitting and relaxing. For instance, I’m always doing SOMETHING while I’m watching tv and when I’m doing one thing, I’m thinking about the next thing I need to do and, to be honest, I’m usually doing at least 3 things all at the same time. This is why yoga is a struggle for me. He says to clear your mind which I really have to work at doing. Today at the end of the workout during corpse pose I started thinking about writing this post and I had to turn my brain off and relax which I think is really, REALLY good for me. So aside from its obvious flexibility benefits, which is really important because the more flexible you are, the more potential for lean muscle and strength, the mental benefits are huge for me. A time to shut off, relax, focus on breathing and clear my overcrowded, ever turning, stuffed to the brim brain.

Plyometrics

Okay, so I’ve already mentioned how I have a little bit of mind-feet dis-coordination, for example I cannot, for the life of me, pedal backwards in Ab Ripper X. Well, I’ve got another one for ya! Those Swing Kicks seriously trip me up every time. My body would really like to swing the right leg over and the left leg back which I know makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but that’s what it wants to do. Today’s attempt was much better than the last one. It took a few tries to get the rhythm going after a few stuttering swings with the wrong legs. Then I got it going. Hey, at least I was doing something, right? Sometimes I really think a video of these things would be fantastic comedy.

My Week 1 Review of P90x

Okay, so I don’t know about you, but the thought of doing P90x was a little intimidating.  I mean, let’s face it, the X scared the pants off me… how X-treme was it really? Am I going to be able to handle it? What if I can’t? What if I can only do one push-up? What if I can’t do any pull-ups? What if I pass out during Plyometrics? What if… what if… what if…

P90x: Day 5

Today was Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X.

First off, I am getting better at Ab Ripper X which I love! I really love the feeling of sore abs and this is one workout that definitely leaves my abs feeling like I got punched in the stomach. What’s awesome is that my lower abs are sore which is a really hard place to work. I love that Ab Ripper X even gets those trouble spots.

Legs & Back…. wow! Those wall squats and single leg wall squats are killers! Legs have always been a problem spot for me- just have the genes to have big legs so I’m always working on them. I have a feeling that this leg workout is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I also know that I’m definitely going to be feeling it tomorrow! I love working my back muscles too. I know that strengthening my back muscles helps my back become stronger which means less pain in the end. I’m soooo looking forward to the summer, tank tops and spaghetti straps!
